Tag – You’re It!

I love making cards, but sometimes creativity takes me in a slightly different direction which was the case last night and this morning.  The linear part of my brain decided to do some co-mingling with the crafty side and the result was…tags!  I had forgotten how much fun these can be and some of our DSP just naturally lends itself to being – well – linear!

Take for instance, the Just Add Color DSP.  I wanted to share some with my daughter-in-law while I was in Texas and cutting up some of the designs in this series is a bit challenging unless you give in to its linearness (is that even a word LOL).  When all was said and done, this little beauty just popped right up begging to be made into a tag.

Tag for Karen C

I started with a base of Whisper White cut to 3-1/4 x 6-1/4.  This was covered by some paper from the Birthday Memories DSP series and feeling somewhat radical, I punched the hole in the corner rather than the center.  Next, I used alcohol markers to color in the strip of Just Add Color panel, pulling in colors from the polka dot paper.  I fussy cut the strip so that I could pop up one half of it on top of the other with dimensionals to give it depth.  This panel was then glued to the tag using Tombow mono glue.  Wink of Stella was applied to the coral bits and the fish were given a coat of Glossy Accents.  Tranquil Tide ribbon was the finishing touch.  What a fun blast of summer!
