Happiness Surrounds Stamp Set and Dies

Happiness Surrounds is the second stamp set from the Snowflake Showcase Suite. I love the floral images in this one, so today we incorporated both the stamps and dies into a lovely, uplifting card.

Peaceful Reflection – For the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Just got back from OnStage local here in Atlanta and oh you are going to love the new catalog!  So many new beautiful stamp/die sets, brand new in-colors that are fabulous and a color refresh that is absolutely gorgeous!  And all just in time to use for this month’s inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!

So, without further ado – here is one of those stamp sets that you know you want from the moment you lay eyes on it.  It’s called Peaceful Reflections and I thought it was perfect for our feminine theme.

The card base is a returning color – Mint Macaron – which is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored and folded at 4-1/4″ for a side folding card.  I then took a 4″ x 4″ square of Share What You Love Designer Series Paper and sliced it in half on the diagonal.  Each triangle was then fixed to the card base leaving a narrow border of the Mint Macaron to show throw.  This left a gap in the middle over which I attached about 7″ of of the Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon (I am so happy this carried over) using Mini Glue Dots.

Next it was time to work on the design panel.  I used one of the new Delightfully Detailed Note Cards, cutting it in half and using the front.  Love the softness and how the color fades, making it look like water.  Less work for me LOL!   I started with the large water rings from the Peaceful Reflection Stamp Set inked in Pool Party.  I then inked the bottom layer of the water plant using So Saffron and stamped it down.  The top layer of the water plant was inked in Pear Pizzazz.  I just love layering stamps, don’t you?  Then it was time to stamp the dragonflies.  The bottom layer is inked with Memento Tuxedo Black and the wings filled in with the second layer inked in Wild Wisteria (I will miss this color but love the new purples they came out with).

The sentiment is from the Love What You Do Stamp Set.  I inked it in Pool Party to tie in the water rings below and stamped it in the upper right of the design panel. A quick brush of Wink of Stella on the water plant and dragonfly wings and the card was almost done.  For a finishing touch I added 3 rhinestone accents.

I hope you enjoyed my card, and seeing some of the wonderful new things that will be available for our customers to order starting June 1st.   There’s much more to come, so stay tuned!

Springtime Wishes – for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

My garden says spring is here even if the calendar doesn’t – and what a great time to celebrate it with the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!

This month’s card is filled with florals and can be used for many different occasions – birthdays, get well, encouragement and (my favorite) no reason at all!

March blog hop w

The card base is a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″.  I then cut a piece of Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (144185) on the diagonal for some interest.  To add a bit of separation and depth, I cut a piece of the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper (145601) with a scalloped die from the Layering Squares Framelits (141708) and attached it to the bottom edge using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755).  Before attaching this to the card base, I stamped the group of x’s from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set (143940) inking it in Marina Mist ink (126962) all along the bottom third of the card base.  Once this was done, the floral panel was then attached to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I then turned my attention to the sentiment panel.  For this, I used the 2nd largest square die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits (145372) to cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Butterfly Basics (137154) stamp set in Always Artichoke  ink (126972).  The outline floral image from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set (143940) was stamped with Peekaboo Peach ink (141398) for the flower and Lemon Lime Twist (144086) for the stem.  I then inked the filler stamp with Peekaboo Peach and stamped on top of the outline image.

Once all the stamping was done, I cut another piece of the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper using a scalloped die from the Layering Squares Framelits and attached the sentiment panel to it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  This was then placed on top of the floral panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).  The last step was to add a few Enamel Shapes Subtles (141679).

I hope you enjoyed this card – if you have any questions about how I made it, please drop me a comment below and I will be happy to answer them.  Now on to the rest of the hop!  You can click either of the buttons or click on a name in the list below.  Ta ta for now

Remarkable You!

One of my favorite things to come out of this year’s Occasions catalog is the slim note cards and envelopes.  Sometimes it’s nice to have a quick little note that you can send to someone just to let them know you are thinking of them.  A set of 4 decorated and put into a cute box makes a great gift too!  Creating this boxed set also gave me the opportunity to play with the Remarkable You stamp set – I just love coloring in the flowers and leaves, so many possibilities!   So I thought I would put together some quick instructions to show you how I made them.

Notes w

The box is made using the die from Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies (145653).  You will need to cut two pieces of Whisper White cardstock (100730).  I then stamped the magnolia and the sentiment from Remarkable You Stamp Set (139894) in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (132708) and colored the floral image using the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends (144604) using both the dark and the light markers.   I then gave it the old splatter treatment using a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (100082).  Then it was time to adhere them together with Fast Fuse (129026).  There are lots of great YouTube videos that show how to put it together if you need help.

I grabbed four of the Whisper White Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes (145583) and stamped each with an image from the Remarkable You stamp set (info listed above) using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Each image is colored using Prismacolor Colored Pencils because the Stampin’ Blends do tend to bleed through to the back.  This gave a nice softness to the floral images.  I tucked the cards with their matching envelopes into the box and that as they say was that!

Such an easy project, especially if you like coloring!  I hope you will give it a try.  Let me know if you have any questions at all.  You can purchase the products by clicking on the Shop Now button in the upper right corner, or simply click here if you are on your mobile device.

Have fun and Ta for now!
