My third blog post this week and another Christmas card! Woo hoo, I’m on a roll y’all! This is another super simple card that still has that glam feeling to it but is much more traditional. And you can literally make it in about 15-20 minutes – how’s that for fast! Great for mass producing as long as you have the patience to glue on all this little sequins (or a helper). All you need are 2 pieces of cardstock, 2 stamps, a bit of ribbon and a few sequins.
I started with some Cherry Cobbler cardstock (love this color for Christmas) cut 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″ Then I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock that measures 4″ x 5-1/4″ for my focal panel (HINT: Cut two of these as you will need the other one for the inside of the card). Onto this I stamped the Christmas tree from Ready for Christmas using Garden Green ink full strength. Gorgeous! I then stamped the sentiment, also from Ready for Christmas in Cherry Cobbler ink towards the upper right leaving room for the ribbon trim. I then cut a length of the 1/4″ Quilted Christmas ribbon and wrapped it around the Whisper White panel, tying it in a double loop bow (I’m getting a lot of practice with bows this week). A few strategically placed Mini Glue Dots hold it in place nicely. The panel is adhered to the card base using our Liquid Glue. I took the second piece of Whisper White mentioned in my above hint and glued it to the inside of the card again using Liquid Glue. Lastly, I glued Old Olive and Real Red sequins from the Brights Sequin assortment diagonally down the tree to mimic a garland. And that’s it folks!
This is probably the shortest set of instructions I have written which just goes to show you how simple this one really is. Give it a try!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions about this card. You can order all of the supplies by clicking on the shop button at the upper right corner. I would love to be your demonstrator!
