My husband is an incurable romantic – how lucky am I? While I have made him masculine cards I know how much he loves the rich colors that can be found in flowers. So when I saw the new Sale-Bration Springtime Foils DSP I knew right away there was a card in it for him. And, I got to use the Blends, so who can beat that?
I started with a card base of Melon Mambo cardstock (115320) cut 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″ and set it aside. Next, I just couldn’t wait to get out the Stampin’ Blends (147475) and have some fun coloring. I cut a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the gorgeous rose-patterned Springtime Foils Specialty DSP (147193) and used Calypso Coral light and dark Stampin’ Blends (144045) to color in the roses. I also used Old Olive light and dark Stampin’ Blends (144597) to color in the leaves. Very easy and just look at how rich and gorgeous they look against the gold foiling.
I am still having a love affair (shh, don’t tell hubby) with the Painted with Love Specialty DSP (145580) and cut a 1-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece for the left side of the card. The colors are so soft and beautiful and add some depth to the overall piece.
I needed to add a sentiment but didn’t want anything taking away from the foiled paper so I die cut a heart using the Lots to Love Box Framelits (145653) die from a scrap of Shimmery White cardstock (101910) . I then heat embossed the floral images from the Petal Palette stamp set (145788) using Versamark ink (102283) and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder (109129) . I colored them in with the same colors used on the foiled DSP. The sentiment is from the Graceful Garden stamp set (143849) and was stamped using the Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pad (126983).
To assemble the card, I adhered the two pieces of DSP to each other using Fast Fuse Adhesive. To cover the seam, I cut a 6″ piece of Gold 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon (144146) wrapped down the seam and adhered each end to the back using a glue dot. I used the same ribbon to tie a small bow and adhered that with another glue dot. The heart is popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430) and the front panel attached to the card base using Fast Fuse.
I hope you enjoyed the card and will give it a try. Hubby absolutely loved it! As always, should you need any of the supplies mentioned above, just click the Shop Now button in the upper right corner or click here.
Have a great weekend!
