Wonderful Moments Baby Card

Wonderful Moments is a very popular set but I haven’t made many cards with it. Well, a friend just became a gramma again so I thought I would use this lovely stamp set to make a congratulations card for her. I think she is going to like it!

Happiness Surrounds Stamp Set and Dies

Happiness Surrounds is the second stamp set from the Snowflake Showcase Suite. I love the floral images in this one, so today we incorporated both the stamps and dies into a lovely, uplifting card.

Easter Bunny is coming and how to design your own DSP with just ink and blocks

It is a grey and gloomy day outside so decided to make another Easter card (made one yesterday as part of our Anything Goes Saturday series) for my other granddaughter who is definitely not a girly girl like her sister.  She loves bright and bold!  I knew the colors i wanted to use but could not find any DSP in my stash that matched them without being floral.  What to do?  Make your own, of course!  So I grabbed my ink pads and my blocks (as well as an aqua painter and plenty of paper towels) and went to town.   All of the instructions are below the pic if you would like to try it.

Easter bunny w

The card starts with a base of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock (144245) which I cut to my standard 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″.  I then cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock (100730) and cut it slightly smaller than the card base, 4″ x 5-1/4″  Then it was time to have some fun with it!

I took out the following ink pads – Powder Pink (144084), So Saffron (126957), Wisteria Wonder (126985) and Lemon Lime Twist (144086).  I used a couple of different sizes of our Clear Blocks (B – 117147, E- 118484 and H – 118490) though you can use any size you like.  Next, I took a block and gently “smooshed” it onto an ink pad to coat it with color.  Don’t press hard and don’t worry if it is not completely covered in ink – less is better.  I then stamped the block off onto scratch paper then used an Aqua Painter (103954) with the tip damp and ran it back and forth on the block, creating the stripes.  Once I was happy with its “stripiness” I then stamped it down onto the panel of Whsiper White.  I repeated this using the various blocks and colors until the entire paper was covered.  be sure to overlap areas and run them off the page for an organic look.  No matchy matchy here!  I then set this panel aside to thoroughly dry and moved on to the sentiment panel.

I took another piece of Whisper White (at least 3-1/2″ x 4″ to accommodate the stamping and die cutting).  Using my Stamparatus (if you missed out on the preorder, it will be available in the new catalog – June 2018) I stamped the bunny from Sweet Little Something (Occasions Catalog – 145848).  This is a triple layer stamp, but I only wanted to use one color.  So, I used Wisteria Wonder full strength on the detailed (topmost) image.  I used it again but stamped off for the middle layer and then used it for the base layer by stamping it off twice.  Love how it turned out!

The bunny image was cut out using the largest of the straight edged Layering Squares Framelits (141708).  To frame the image, I then used the largest scalloped edged die from the same set to cut out a piece of the light green Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper (Occasions Catalog – 145601).  The green went really well with the card base.  I angled this behind the focal image and adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755).

I then adhered the by now dry DSP to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The matted focal image was added on top of this using Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).  Next, I took a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock that was 1/4″ high and at least 3″ long and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Wisteria Wonder ink.  This was adhered below the focal panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Lastly, I added a sprinkling of Enamel Shapes (Subtles – 141679) to finish off the card.

I hope you enjoyed the card and will give the inky blocks technique a try if you need to make some DSP for a project.  It really was easy and fun.  If you need any supplies, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Just click the Shop Now button in the upper right of your screen, or you can click here.  Have a great rest of your weekend and see you for the Wednesday Night series!

Saturday Anything Goes series – Sweet Little Something and Stamparatus!

Hi all!  It was a beautiful day today here in sunny Georgia.  The pear trees are blooming, the daffodils swaying and the birds singing.  I just love Spring!

Another thing I love – the new Stamparatus!  Just got mine yesterday and had a play with it today during the Saturday Anything Goes series. It was perfect for doing the 3-step stamping using the Sweet Little Something bunny stamp.  It would have been even more perfect if I had just remembered to use the magnets that came with it LOL!  Either way, it worked beautifully!
