Treats – No Tricks! Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Halloween Fun

Yup – I love Halloween!  The costumed kiddies, the crispness in the air, the candy corn!  So I was delighted to participate in this month’s Halloween Fun blog hop.

I love seeing the many designs demonstrators have been doing with our mini pizza boxes and couldn’t wait to use them myself.  These boxes are food safe and large enough to hold a few mini chocolate bars so will be perfect for parties or just handing out as goodies.  This 3D project is super simple and only takes a few supplies, so let’s get started!

I cut all the pieces from the same sheet of paper from the Spooky Night designer series paper – it has designs on both sides which makes it great for this project.  The top piece measures 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ and is matted with black cardstock which measures 3-3/8″ x 3-3/8″.  The four side pieces measure 3-1/4″ x 3/4″and are matted with black cardstock which measures 3-3/8″ x 15/16″.  The matted pieces were then adhered to the box using Tombow Multipurpose glue giving me that little bit of wiggle room to make sure they were positioned correctly.

Now on to the top.  I first cut a 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of black cardstock and folded it in half.  I then folded the bottom of each half inward about 1/4″ and glued these ends to the top of the box in the center.  This made a nice stand to adhere my labels to once they were done.

I next cut two labels from Very Vanilla cardstock using the Everyday Label punch.  I then used the outline stamp from the Spooky Cat photopolymer stamp set, inking it in Basic Black.  I then chose the Happy Halloween sentiment from the same stamp set, again inking it in Basic Black.  The sentiment fits so nicely inside the image from the first stamp.  Both labels were stamped so I could have one on either side of the stand.

For added interest, I cut two more labels using the Everyday Label punch, but this time from the same designer series paper.  Each label was cut in half vertically and the ends glued to either side of each vanilla label with Tombow.

For a little color, I used the magic potions stamp in the Spooky Cat stamp set.  This is a two-step stamp.  The outline was stamped in black and then each of the vials has a solid stamp so you can use different colors for each potion.  I stamped these twice and fussy cut them, then added one to the front label and the other to the back label using Mini Dimensionals.

Lastly, I used some of our Gold Metallic Thread which I wrapped around three fingers several times, cut and attached to the back of the front label using Fast Fuse.  Each of the completed labels was then glued to the black stand on top of the box using Tombow.
