Celebrate Wedding – For the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Time for this month’s blog hop – yay!!!  This month it’s all about celebrating and since I am knee deep in Christmas cards, I thought I would make a card to celebrate weddings.   We should all have some of these in our stash.

Isn’t it gorgeous?  It took way less than time than I was expecting since the card focuses on the beautiful foiled holiday paper that came out this year.  But enough gushing, let’s get down to how it was made.

The card base is top-folding 4-14″ x 5-1/2″ using Basic Black cardstock.  Next is a mat of the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper cut 4″ x 5-1/4″ to leave a thin border of black to balance all the glitz.  Next I cut a length of Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and wrapped it around the center of the mat, securing to the back using Fast Fuse.  On top of this came a layer of Gold 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon wrapped around the mat and secured with Fast Fuse.  This was adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Love how it helped break up the busy patterned paper.

Then I cut a piece of Champagne Foil measuring 2-3/4″ x 4″ using a stitched rectangle die and embossed it with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.  Love how embossing the foil gave it added dimension and interest.  This was popped up on the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set using Versamark, covered it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.  The oval was die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Big Shot.  It looked great, but needed a little extra to help it “marry” with the foil layer so I rolled the edges of the oval across my Versamark pad, dipped it into the Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and again heat set it.  I did this twice for a thicker layer and it was well worth the effort.  Gorgeous!  This was popped up on the foil panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The finishing touch was the addition of the gold hearts from the Metallic Enamel Shapes.

And there you have it!  It probably took me less than 30 minutes to make the card so is great if you need a last minute wedding card.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will give it a try.  If you need any help with it just pop a comment below.  You can order the materials by clicking on the Shop Now button in the upper right corner.
