Peaceful Reflection – For the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Just got back from OnStage local here in Atlanta and oh you are going to love the new catalog!  So many new beautiful stamp/die sets, brand new in-colors that are fabulous and a color refresh that is absolutely gorgeous!  And all just in time to use for this month’s inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!

So, without further ado – here is one of those stamp sets that you know you want from the moment you lay eyes on it.  It’s called Peaceful Reflections and I thought it was perfect for our feminine theme.

The card base is a returning color – Mint Macaron – which is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored and folded at 4-1/4″ for a side folding card.  I then took a 4″ x 4″ square of Share What You Love Designer Series Paper and sliced it in half on the diagonal.  Each triangle was then fixed to the card base leaving a narrow border of the Mint Macaron to show throw.  This left a gap in the middle over which I attached about 7″ of of the Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon (I am so happy this carried over) using Mini Glue Dots.

Next it was time to work on the design panel.  I used one of the new Delightfully Detailed Note Cards, cutting it in half and using the front.  Love the softness and how the color fades, making it look like water.  Less work for me LOL!   I started with the large water rings from the Peaceful Reflection Stamp Set inked in Pool Party.  I then inked the bottom layer of the water plant using So Saffron and stamped it down.  The top layer of the water plant was inked in Pear Pizzazz.  I just love layering stamps, don’t you?  Then it was time to stamp the dragonflies.  The bottom layer is inked with Memento Tuxedo Black and the wings filled in with the second layer inked in Wild Wisteria (I will miss this color but love the new purples they came out with).

The sentiment is from the Love What You Do Stamp Set.  I inked it in Pool Party to tie in the water rings below and stamped it in the upper right of the design panel. A quick brush of Wink of Stella on the water plant and dragonfly wings and the card was almost done.  For a finishing touch I added 3 rhinestone accents.

I hope you enjoyed my card, and seeing some of the wonderful new things that will be available for our customers to order starting June 1st.   There’s much more to come, so stay tuned!

  4. Your card is making me want May to hurry up and get here. Oh, how I wish I had been able to attend On Stage! I especially love the ripples on the water….reminds me of skipping stones on the lake and river. I’m thrilled that they brought back the colors I loved in the past and still have oodles of cardstock for them!

    • I know, right? My catalog has so many stickies marking what I want that it resembles a porcupine LOL! Will you be attending OnStage in November since it is in Orlando? Would love to meet up with you! On Saturday’s Anything Goes we will be making a card using the gorgeous new Nature’s Poem DSP and stamps from 2 new sets!
